Imaginary Worlds HAKASE

When I was in elementary school, I had a notebook filled with a world of my own.

I loved blank notebooks more than any other kind. While other notebooks had grids and rules to follow, I often ignored the lines and squares and just drew freely. A blank notebook called "Jiyuucho" (自由帳) was one of my favorites. It felt completely open. It was a place where I could create anything.

One of the characters I created was called "Hakase" — a little professor-like character who carried a stick and explained strange ideas inside my imaginary world.

Each page became part of a story. I created games, quizzes, and little experiences within this world. I even created my own language and shared this world with my classmates.

Looking back now, I think this was one of the earliest forms of creating a world of my own , something that continues in my creative work today.

I still have that notebook today.
A whole world is contained within this one notebook. It is something I could never let go of.

A single notebook contained a world with no limits, a place created from nothing but imagination.
